It gets its name from its similarity to the undocked end of an equine. A conventional edge is pretty directly at or above the eye-brows, but it can also be tattered or beautiful, raised up with hairs gel, taken to one part or the other, or cut more time to drop over the eyes. Based on styles, they may also be used at the part of the go (which is sometimes regarded formal) which is used over one ear or on the very top of the go.
